Vienna was amazing, there is so much to do and the food is incredible. I found it a very walkable city and didn't actually use public transport much at all. Some things like the Opera house tours were sold out so I would be more organised at booking tickets in advance next time. its a great base for day trips - the train station is massive but really well organised much better than UK trains lol

Vienna is a wonderful city, crossing point between East and West for centuries, being the capital of Austrio-Hungar empire, have all kind of resources, places for every traveller.
From pastry and kitchen, to clothes and design, architecture and art.
Art is for me the most rich experience: for the many musea I could only visit Hoog Belvedere, Albertina and Kunstforum wien (property of Austria Bank) were there was a retrospective of great artist Roberto Matta, the most complete in decades in Europe.
A very beautiful place is the palais Schonbrunn, knew as residence of Sissy, quite expensive admission but surrounded with a magnificent and gigantic garden, free access, with hill and fountains, you can made a tour in wiener horse coach.
I recommend to buy 1,2,3 of week tickets for public transport: Metro, tramway, train and bus, in de central zone : attention: you get a card that NOT NEED to be validated, you have to have with you when requested in the very rare occasion of inspection, what make very easy to make the frequent change of lines.
Apart of chic and expensive classical restaurant, there are plenty place to eat, from hotdogs on street to some food hall in the big markt, good and cheap.
Enjoy your stay!

Beautiful city, you need a three or four days minimum to get the best here. I'm unsure I could recommend the boat trip to be honest, It's a limited view, and the price, is not great value for the money....

The city is very clean and the architecture is beautiful. Gardens of the Schönbrunn are exceptional. Great food in the restaurants. The boat ride on the Danube was disappointing - 30 minutes in a water lock. The staff smoked cigarettes on the deck next to the tourists.

We wish we could have stayed longer!
We wish we could have stayed longer! Vienna is a beautiful SAFE city with so much to see and do. The locals we encountered were very nice. In just 3 days we were able to see a classical concert in the evening, take in the Sisi Museum (order tickets online), enjoy the sunshine and lounge around on the palace lawn, eat at some good restaurants, and of course, enjoy coffee and apple strudel at Cafe Sperl. The one big surprise was that many restaurants took CASH only which forced us to find an ATM after business hours. The bank ATM we tried didn’t take foreign (US) debit cards, so we were forced to use the Euronet one in the Nauschmarket…something we try to avoid because of the fees. 😩
Another surprise…in a good way…was walking into St. Stephen’s Cathedral and being able to enjoy high mass with full orchestra, pipe organ and choir midday on a Thursday. At first, we entered with all the other tourists and thought the music was just a rehearsal until we saw on the monitors that the cardinal was celebrating mass. We then worked our way to the left side where we were able to enter by indicating that we wanted to attend mass and were allowed through. Luckily we had been to Europe before and knew that tradition.

I can't recommend Wein enough.
I can't recommend Wein enough. The place is steeped in history and there are so many places to visit and things to do. Do your research as it pays to book many of the attractions beforehand to avoid disappointment and avoid queues. In particular Schonbrunn Schloss, The Sisi Museum, The Spanish School of Horse (Lipizzaner) the State Opera House tour. There are so many concerts on offer - do your research!
Exceptional staff and service. Very clean as well with daily housekeeping if wanted. The location was perfect as only 2 stops from the city centre via tram service 43 amd 44 along with services 5 and 33 going north and south. The continental breakfast is great value for money if you pre-booked it or pay on daily basis depending on plans. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable on just about everything and can tell you how to get anywhere or what things to see or do.
I won't use any other hotel in Vienna due to all the above.
Nice design, both the hotel and the room. The staff is really great, and the hotel has good facilities, whether its the rooftop bar, the restaurant, and the bonus is the fact that you can take a record from the collection in the reception desk area and play it using the record player in the room.
That was my 8th time visiting Vienna, and this was one of the best hotels I stayed in the city.
The location is great, just a minute walk from Mariahilferstraße
The property used to be new in 2016, so we chose to stay here over other 5 star hotels in Vienna. But we found so many defects in the room, the shades were not rolling, toilet doors were not closing, and the phone wasnt even working so I had to all the way down 8 floors to talk to a receptionist. No manager at Hotel, only phone was fixed and I found it a hasstle to take all my stuff to another room! I dont recommend this hotel! The staff dont care!
I’ve never been spoiled in any hotel around the world as much as here. This hotel deserves more than 5 stars. Their staff make you feel like you’re home. Always smiling and offering their help! The rooms are very clean and luxurious! The colors and the interiors of this hotel is out of this world! Their services were beyond my expectations. The little details are everything! They made my first visit to Vienna so magical ✨
Hotel was in a quiet and peaceful place. Tram station is only 100 meters away. Underground is 7 mints walking. So very convenient public transport. Also hotel has their own private parking place 15 euro/day. So you can keep the car in hotel parking and use public transport day ticket for visiting all the attraction inside the Vienna city. Vienna city centre is just 3 Kms away from the hotel, if you go by walking.
City Pension felt like a 5 star hotel for the price of one. Location is unbeatable. Extremely clean, well maintained and very, very helpful staff. It shows how much the family that runs this hotel cares about their guests. At City Pension you are in the middle of the action. Stayed there for New Years, and it was the best choice I made during my visit to Vienna. Overall, if I could give 10 stars I would!
Stayed 2 days in Vienna and the hotel was perfect for us. Comfortable and almost 15 min walking to the city center. The rooms are quiet and there is no disturbance, and the air conditioning was cool and excellent. The staff were smiling and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and flexible. The rooms are not large but adequate and this is the case with most hotels in Europe.
Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The train to get to the airport is barely 3 minutes walk away, and gets you there in about 25 mins. Tram stop to get to city centre is just 2 mins walk from hotel, and the Belvedere Palace is a short walk away. Ideal for our short break in Vienna as we didn't have to spend much time on public transport - and the hotel was very comfortable.
The room itself was fine.
But the price was exorbitant for a hotel that doesn't have a restaurant and only provides breakfast at €13.50.
The lobby gives the impression the hotel is fancier than it actually is. But it's ok for travellers using the train station opposite but not so great if you want to be closer to City Centre Vienna.
Lovely hotel! Excellent location - in a walking distance of city centre and the most beautiful attractions. Transport station, shops, nice cafes are also nearby.
Nice interior, atmospheric. Need renovation a little bit, but still it's very cosy. Clean cosy rooms.
Definitely will stay here again when visit Vienna.
Very comfortable and clean room in a location not far from the city center (walkable - 15 mins) with good access to public transportation. They provided an excellent breakfast, including sparkling wine for Mimosas.
I'd be happy to return to this hotel on a future visit to Vienna.
The hotel is in a very good location, close to many train station and Vienna City Centre. The breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed the lovely terrace.
It was a bit hot during the first night, but when we asked the staff for an extra fan, they provided one.
Nice hotel to stay in Vienna:
- next to Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof (station)
- 30 min from Vienna Central Station by direct tramway
- 15-20 min from city center by direct tramway
- spacious room
- good breakfast
- helpful staff
- option to leave luggage
The hotel is ideally placed to explore the city centre - very near to main museums, parks, concert halls, opera house. Room was great and staff very friendly and helpful.
Will definitely stay there again when I'm next in Vienna.
Thank you!
The property is spot clean, easy accessible through tram, minutes away from the city centre.
The unique theme and hotel design, topped up by excellent service and staff, represents best value for money. Definitely shall stay again!
location of the hotel is not the best but its quite close to all public transport. at the end the city centre is not far and it is possible to walk and absorb "mood of Vienna" . Even Prater is very close to the hotel.
The best hotel in Vienna for its price.
+ Location - very close to the public transport stops (6 stops by the underground from the city center)
+ Very clean
+ Breakfast (wide variety of food)
+ Staff
+ Price
+ Design
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and located 5 mins walk from the Vienna city centre which is very good! Rooms are massive! Recommended 100%
